John-Albert Moseley supports the department's academic affairs. He supports VMA students with advising, registration, and academic permits. He manages VMA's course scheduling, over 300 course sections per semester. He shepherds the procedures for Degree Audit updates, Directed Studies, Grade Changes, and Major Changes and manages faculty life issues and teaching schedules. Before Emerson, he was a Program Director in Women’s, Gender, Sexuality Studies, and LGBT Studies at Yale University. He holds a Master of Arts (MAR) in Religion from the Yale Institute of Sacred Music and a bachelor's degree in History, Music, and Education from Southern Connecticut State University. John-Albert is a classical singer and church musician, having performed with the New York Baroque Opera, CT Opera, Boston Early Music Festival, Paul Winter Consort, New Haven Symphony, and Orchestra New England. He is a member of the American Choral Directors Association, Pride @ Work, and the National Association of Administrators in Higher Education. John-Albert is also the Chapter Chair of the Emerson Staff Union, SEIU Local 888.
