Margaret “Peggy” Ings is the vice president for government and community relations. She serves as the College’s liaison for communications among municipal, state, and federal agencies in Boston and LA.
Her responsibilities also include securing permits and obtaining inspections and approvals from city and state agencies involving construction projects, historic preservation, and life-safety codes. Ings maintains strong working relationships with abutting and surrounding neighborhoods and continues to develop new and ongoing partnerships while expanding the College’s civic engagement opportunities for faculty, staff, and students.
Prior to her position at Emerson, Ings was the coordinator of the Midtown Cultural/Theater District in the Economic Development Department at the Boston Redevelopment Authority. She holds MS degrees in healthcare management and arts administration from Lesley College and a BFA in Dramatic Arts from Emerson College.
