Stephen spent more than 20 years in mainstream media before becoming a "Brand Jounalist" in 2010 when he started a multimedia business. He now specializes in providing online multimedia stories (video, audio, writing, etc.) and services to companies or individuals.

Stephen began his career as a print journalist in Worcester, MA in 1987 before hosting radio talk shows in TN and GA and then moving to TV broadcast journalism.

Stephen has anchored, reported, produced and written 1000's of stories and shows for TV network affiliates (CBS/NBC) around the country. He spent most of that time as a Sports Anchor/Reporter/Director in GA, AZ and TX before moving back to Boston (2006) and reporting for NECN.

Some of the bigger stories Stephen has covered include the historic 2006 MA gubernatorial race (first African American Governor-elect), Ted Kennedy's seizure in 2007, murder trials of Neil Entwistle (convicted of killing his wife and unborn child) and Christopher McCowen (convicted of killing noted fashion writer Christa Worthington on Cape Cod in 2002), Red Sox World Series titles in 2007 + '13, Celtics championship in 2008 and the Boston Marathon Bombings.

In 2003, while working for the NBC affiliate in Central TX, Stephen was at the forefront of the Baylor University Men's Basketball murder/scandal. Utilizing inside sources he broke several aspects of that national story and appeared in a documentary featuring one of the worst collegiate scandals in history.

Stephen joined Emerson in 2006, teaching students in Radio Producing/Reporting (JR 305), Radio Journalism (JR 241), Electronic News Gathering (JR 419), Advanced Audio/Video Journalism (JR 216), TV News Producing (JR 318), Beat Reporting (JR 202) Foundations of Journalism (JR 102) and Digital Journalism (JR 103). He is amazed at the amount of talent coming through his Emerson classrooms each semester.

Stephen has also taught at UMass-Boston, Quincy College, Fisher College and Endicott College and loves sharing real world experiences with aspiring journalists.
