The most important thing a parent or family can do for their student is to encourage them to visit or contact the Career Development Center to establish a regular line of communication. This communication will assist your student in designing a personal career path while making them aware of the numerous opportunities awaiting them at Emerson College.
How You Can Help
Parents and families can assist their students through their own career development and encourage them to take full advantage of the resources and services. We offer individual appointments and connections with employers and alumni in order for students to gain valuable experiential opportunities and transition well into the workplace. This strengthens the return on investment of their higher education degree and prepares them to be future ready.
We are dedicated to offering:
- Ongoing and individualized career planning;
- Career access and equity for all students;
- Opportunities for experiential learning;
- Social identity and branding exploration;
- Assistance with articulating professional and skill development;
- Strategic career transitions.
Another way in which you can help our wider student community is to research job and internship opportunities at your employer that may align with Emerson students' interests. Our office hosts internship and employer events each fall and spring semester, connecting students with prospective employers and assisting companies like yours in showcasing their recruiting efforts.
Contact our office for more information on engagement opportunities. We are always grateful to have your support as we continue to prepare your students for a successful post-graduate career.
