Handshake allows active students and alumni to search for jobs, engage with over 7,000 employers, explore our career resources, and connect with a Career Advisor to help students develop their careers. Employers can post internship and job opportunities, as well as browse resumes and portfolios to recruit from our talented community actively. On Handshake, you’ll be able to:

  • Search through an average of 1,000 job and internship opportunities are posted monthly.
  • Browse collections of jobs and internships based on Emerson-specific industries.
  • Book appointments with career advisors.
  • Find career-specific guides and resources to develop your career, including resume and cover letter tips, how to get an internship, industry, and career guides, and so much more!

Accessing Handshake

Students can easily access Handshake using their login credentials, while alumni can update their login information or create a new account for seamless access.

Resources

Emerson’s Career Development Center is a one-stop shop for career education and support. In the resource section of Handshake, you’ll find guides, action plans, FAQs, and other information about resumes, cover letters, networking, internships, portfolios, how to use ChatGPT in the job search, and so much more. Online Resume & Cover Letter Reviews

Any current Emerson College student may submit their resume through Handshake for a peer review by a member of our team. Feedback is delivered via email in roughly 2-3 business days. Submit your resume and/or cover letter for review follow these instructions:
Instructions for adding your resume on Handshake:

  1. Login to your Handshake account
  2. On the top right corner, click your profile picture and select "My Documents."
  3. Click "Add New Document"
  4. Upload Resume with the title ForReview_FirstName_LastName
