You have the right to:
- Be safe and free from violence no matter your affiliation with Emerson College, sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, national origin, faith, socio-economic status, ability, age, active military or veteran status, and citizenship status
- Be respected, supported, and taken seriously - no matter when, where, or how the violence occurred
- Talk confidentially with the Healing & Advocacy Collective
- Know information about rights, resources, and options
- Make decisions about options and resources that fit for you
- Follow your own timeline
- Rely on your own resources for support and self-care
- Have an advocate from the Healing & Advocacy Collective with you any time it feels helpful
- Access campus and community resources, including confidential support, medical care, campus processes, legal processes, and transportation
- Be free from any form of retaliation
- Continue forward academically, socially, and professionally
- Request support for academics, work, or living arrangements:
- Regardless of whether one chooses to report through campus/ legal processes
- Whether the violence occurred on or off campus
- Request a No Contact order, No Trespass Order, and apply for a Protective (Restraining) Order
- Decide if you want to file a report to campus and/or community authorities, including police, and:
- Have Emerson respond to a report promptly and effectively
- Request a copy of the report
- Decide if you want to:
- Participate in any campus or police investigations and proceedings
- Reconsider participation at any point in these processes
- Know Emerson College policies and procedures
- Peacefully intervene if you notice abusive or violent behavior
