You get to define what a healthy relationship is for you. All relationships should be rooted in trust, communication, respect, safety, and boundaries. No one should feel threatened or like they have to do anything they’re uncomfortable with because they want to start or maintain a relationship. As an individual, think about what you’re comfortable with in relationship with friends, family, peers, colleagues, and romantic partner(s). Discuss your decisions including what you feel comfortable with, when, where, and how. Consent means active, enthusiastic, and mutual decision-making and participation. Your discussion and decisions should be respected.
