Register for New Faculty Orientation

New Faculty Orientations

Mandatory orientations are held each September and January for all new full- and part-time faculty members. These orientations address such topics as the library and media services, instructional technology support for faculty, how to obtain an ID, review of the Faculty Handbook, discussion of important College policies, best practices for the classroom, and other practical information all new faculty members need to know. Additional topics include syllabus preparation, grading policies, textbook ordering, copyright policy, plagiarism policy, and general College policies that govern academic, faculty, and student issues.

Academic Affairs wants to make sure that new incoming faculty members have access to all the tools they will need to ensure academic excellence, among the other five strategies, at Emerson College. The following is a sampling of the tools provided by Academic Affairs.

Obtaining Your Faculty ID

Step 1 in obtaining an ID is to submit your photo online, you can submit a photo through the GET website or through the GET app for IOS or Android.

If you cannot submit the photo through the app, please email the photo to onecard [at] emerson.edu to have it uploaded manually.

If you are a recent graduate, you will need to obtain a new "faculty ID".

The ID office is open by appointment only. Once your photo has been approved, please email onecard [at] emerson.edu to schedule a time for pickup.

The ID office is located in the lobby of Piano Row (150 Boylston Street, Boston, MA 02116). Go to the security desk upon entering and say you are a new faculty member there to obtain your ID. If you cannot make business hours, email onecard [at] emerson.edu and they will print it and leave it at the Emerson Police Department located at 114 Boylston Street, Boston MA 02116.
