Self-Care Tips for Coping with Grief
Acknowledge Your Feelings
Allow yourself to feel and express your emotions. It's okay to cry, be angry, or feel numb. Everyone experiences grief differently.
Maintain a Routine
Keeping a regular routine can provide a sense of normalcy and stability.
Stay Connected
Reach out to friends, family, or support groups. Isolation can make grief harder to bear.
Take Care of Your Physical Health
Ensure you're eating well, drinking water, getting enough sleep, and moving your body. Physical health is closely linked to emotional well-being.
Engage in Creative Outlets
Expressing yourself through art, writing, music, or other creative activities can be therapeutic. Experiment with what works for you.
Emergency Support
If you or someone you know is in crisis, please seek immediate help.
We are here for you
Remember, you don't have to go through this alone. Emerson College is committed to providing the support and resources you need to cope with grief and move forward. Reach out, connect, and take the steps necessary to care for yourself during this difficult time.
